Description

In this heart-warming tale, a lost little mouse finds love, friendship and family for Christmas. A lovely rhyming story with beautiful illustrations and a classic feel. The story begins … read on …
Twas the night before Christmas
And all through the house
Was the sound of a story
Being read by a mouse.

Twas the story of Christmas,
The babe it was for,
And the little mice listened
Until –
     What was that?
-a knock on the door.

Mommy Mouse said, “Oh my,
I wonder who’s there.”
But the doorway was empty
The garden was bare.

So Mommy stepped out
In the cold and the snow
To see who had knocked
Just a moment ago.

And there sitting down
At the base of the tree
Was a tiny young mouse
Not as big as a pea.

Mommy Mouse said, “Oh my,
You look colder than ice.
Let me take you inside
With my family of mice.”

So the stranger was welcomed
And warmed by the fire
With as much cake and milkshake
As he could desire.

He said, “Thank you my friends.”
And he sniffed and he smiled.
“These are such lovely treats
For a mouse from the wild.”

And he told them the story
Of how he’d got lost
And was all by himself
In the snow and the frost.

Mommy Mouse said, “Oh my,
You poor little dear,
Stay and have Christmas
With all of us here.”
